LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) — The Anti-Defamation League welcomed hundreds of students, teachers, and administrators to its annual "No Place For Hate" leadership conference Thursday at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center in La Jolla.

The gathering is meant to train participants to be better leaders on their own campuses. It coincides with National Bullying Prevention Month.

The students, brought in from middle and high schools throughout the county, were divided into groups.

"It was really cool having an opportunity to understand other people and see so many different people in the same room and trying to fight for the same things that we are trying to fight for," said Jake Schwartz, a senior at Westview High School.

ADL moderators led conversations where students were encouraged to speak openly about their experiences and challenges at school.
