SAN DIEGO – The death of a 5-month-old baby boy at a Scripps Ranch home was medical-related, San Diego police said.

At about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police officers were called to a home in the 9700 block of Caminito Doha, where the child was found dead. Per standard policy in cases like this, child abuse detectives were called to the home to investigate.

Early Thursday afternoon, police told 10News that investigators at the scene determined the boy's death to be a medical case, and not suspicious in nature. Police did not elaborate further on the investigation.
