SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Human remains and clothing matching that of a missing Rancho Encantada man were found on MCAS Miramar, said San Diego Police Thursday.
The remains were located Thursday afternoon on the eastern edge of the base, according to SDPD Lt. Mike Holden.
Clothing found at the investigation scene matched the blue long sleeve shirt, white jacket and dark pants Tai Heng Sun was wearing when he disappeared, said police.
Police have been searching for Sun, 85, since June 15, when he walked away from his home on Maple Grove Ln. When he didn't return, his family called police.

Video showed Sun walking eastbound on Stonebridge Parkway and entering the parking lot of Mission Trails Park.
Law enforcement officers, MCAS Miramar personnel and members of the community searched for Sun in June but found no sign of him, police said.
Forensic testing will be needed to identify the remains, said Holden. The San Diego Police Department is working with NCIS, Sheriff's investigators and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office.
