SDPD clears up mistaken report in search for missing man

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--San Diego Police said Friday that a surveillance video released earlier in the week did not feature missing Mira Mesa man, Tai Heng Sun.

Police believed the video showed Sun near a Ford Taurus on June 17 in Scripps Ranch.  Lt. Mike Holden said members of the community were able to help officers confirm the person in the video was not Sun.

According to the SDPD, Sun was last seen Thursday, June 15, walking on Maple Grove Lane near Sycamore Trail in Rancho Encantada. 

Sun was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue long-sleeved shirt, white jacket, black pants, and white shoes.  Police said he is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. 

Sun is 85 years old and suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.  His relatives told police he had been taking medication for depression, and had expressed suicidal thoughts.
