SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Thousands of people flocked to San Diego County Wednesday to celebrate independence day.

Between locals and out of towners - that's a lot of people going in and out of local restaurants and businesses all day long.

For places like Kojack's in Mission Beach it's the busiest day of the year.  The seaside restaurant celebrated their 30th Fourth of July on Wednesday.

The owner tells 10News they usually triple their inventory and double their sales on this holiday.

"People don't order a big meal to sit down they just want to grab something and leave," said Owner Mike Soltan. "Before the fireworks it's kind of crazy, then slows down. After the fireworks it picks back up."

Soltan said the most popular items on Wednesday were are the gyro's, soft drinks and, of course, hot dogs.

No matter how much they prepare, he said they sell out every year.
