SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several families got a holiday surprise at the Navy Exchange on San Diego Naval Base.
Volunteers from Pay Away the Layaway surprised several families by announcing their layaway balances have been paid off.
“Happy faces," Deidre Reid said, who was one of the people surprised by the generosity. "It’s nice to see. And it’s a surprise, a nice pleasant surprise at Christmastime so I say thank you very much and Merry Christmas to everybody."
This is the second year Pay Away the Layaway has paid off layaway balances of Navy Exchange customers.
