Hit-and-run driver strikes woman, walks away from scene

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--A driver struck a woman crossing a Midtown street Saturday night, then walked away from the scene, abandoning his vehicle, according to the San Diego Police Department. 

A 61-year-old woman was walking westbound across the 3700 block of India Street near Winder Street at around 8:30 p.m. when she was hit by a gold Infinity QX4 SUV, police said. 

The driver got out of his SUV and simply walked away from his vehicle headed southbound on India Street. 

The hit-and-run suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-9-inches tall, 170 pounds, wearing a black shirt, black jacket, short hair and had a goatee.

The victim suffered a broken pelvis. Her injuries are considered non-life threatening.
