A Red Cross canteen was deployed to Viejas to provide snacks and beverages to evacuees. Services will also include a safe and clean place to stay, emotional support, health services, and comfort kits with personal hygiene items.

Officials opened a Red Cross shelter at Los Coches Middle School, 9669 Dunbar Lane, at approximately 4 p.m. Friday. A pet shelter run by the San Diego Humane Society is also at the site for evacuees.
