SAN DIEGO – Governor Jerry Brown will give a speech in San Diego Thursday afternoon, detailing the reasons for his opposition to Proposition 53.
Brown will appear at an event at Union Hal at 4545 Viewridge Ave. at 1 p.m. specifically to discuss Proposition 53. If passed, Proposition 53 would require California voter approval before the state could issue public infrastructure bonds valued at $2 billion or more.
According to a news release, Brown believes Proposition 53 "undermines local control by forcing a statewide vote on water, highway, and other local infrastructure projects."
