SAN DIEGO – A suspected drunk driver swerved in and out of traffic and on and off several freeways before crashing into a center divider on State Route 163 in Kearny Mesa Tuesday night.

At around 11:30 p.m., the 10News Breaking News Tracker spotted the Mazda 3 driving erratically on westbound Interstate 8 near Old Town and called 911. The car exited the freeway momentarily and then re-entered it via I-8 east. The car re-exited the freeway a second time on Hotel Circle in Mission Valley.

At one point, the car stopped on the wrong side of the trolley arm at the intersection of Friars Road and Napa Street as the trolley was passing by.

The car then jumped onto State Route 163 north. It eventually crashed into the median near Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa. The female driver and sole occupant exited the car to assess the damage as emergency responders arrived on scene.

The woman was not seriously hurt. She was given a field sobriety test and arrested by San Diego police on drunken driving charges.
