ESCONDIDO, Calif. – One driver is dead after two vehicles collided in Escondido Friday morning near the Felicita Town Center.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Centre City Parkway and Brotherton Road at about 4:45 a.m., according to Escondido police.

A 33-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the other driver was not hurt.

Based on witness statements and physical evidence at the scene, it appeared the woman was driving a gray 1995 Acura Integra when she attempted a left turn from the South Escondido Boulevard connector to southbound Centre City Parkway and struck a white 2014 Toyota Camry traveling north on Centre City Parkway, Lt. Centre City Parkway was shut down in both directions at Brotherton Road for hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared the crash.

The circumstances of the collision and the name of the deceased driver were not immediately released. Police are seeking the public's help finding anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any additional information. Witnesses are asked to call Officer Frank Huston at (760) 839-4423.
