ACREAGE (Sumday 6:15 a.m.): 225 acres, 25% contained

UPDATES

(MONDAY 5:00 P.M.) - Cal Fire said all evacuations were lifted in the fire zone.


(SUNDAY 6:15 A.M.) - Cal Fire tweeted early Sunday morning that the rock fire, which remained at 225 acres, is now 25 percent contained. 


(SATURDAY 8:30 P.M.) - The forward rate of spread has been stopped. The fire has burned 225 acres and is 10% contained.


(6:30 P.M.) - 100 homes are threatened and are being evacuated off of Sandia Creek. 

Residents in evacuation areas are being directed to Fallbrook High School at 2400 S. Stagecoach Lane.

A Red Cross canteen team is headed to the scene to provide water and snacks.


(5:30 P.M.) - Road closures are in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. The following roads are closed:

  • Sandia Creek Rd., Rock Mountain Rd., Little Rock Rd., Gavilian Mountain Rd., Los Robles Rd., Via El Dorado, Mira Monte, E. Sandia Creek Ter, Rancho Fallbrook Rd., W. Sandia Creek Ter.

(4:12 P.M.) - San Diego Gas & Electric turned off the power for safety for 532 customers in northeast Fallbrook and De Luz.

The estimated time of restoration is Saturday at 9 p.m.


(3:10 P.M.) - The blaze was first reported at about 3:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
