SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- With temperatures soaring in San Diego, crews were dispatched to several locations around the county Monday afternoon to snuff out fires.

Firefighters stopped a blaze in a two-story structure in the 2700 block of Third Avenue in Park West. There are no reports of injuries.

In the North County, crews were called to a quarter-acre brush fire alongside northbound Interstate 5, near state Route 56 in Carmel Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol. There are no reports of structural threats.

The CHP also reported several small brush fires alongside Interstate 805, just south of the State Route 15 interchange in City Heights.

Around 5 p.m., fire crews were battling a house fire in the 6600 block of Red Deer Street in University City.

A "red flag" wildfire warning was issued for Monday due to dry conditions and Santa Ana winds that kicked in over the weekend.
