SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County’s COVID-19 testing efforts are expanding into rural parts of the region.
On Tuesday, Cal Fire San Diego and county health officials opened the first of five appointment-only, drive-up testing sites for residents living in rural areas.
The Julian testing location -- at the San Diego County Library on 1850 Hwy 78 -- began testing at 9 a.m. and will run through 2 p.m.
The other locations opening this week:
- Wednesday, May 27, Pine Valley (9 a.m-2 p.m.): Old SDCF Fire Station, 28850 A Old Hwy 80
- Thursday, May 28, Valley Center (9 a.m-2 p.m.): San Diego County Library, 29200 Cole Grade Road
- Friday, May 29, Borrego Springs (9 a.m-2 p.m.): San Diego County Library 2580 Country Club Road
- Saturday, May 30, Potrero (9 a.m-2 p.m.): San Diego County Library, 24883 Potrero Valley Road
