SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are looking for whoever used a stolen construction vehicle to destroy an ATM at an Allied Gardens-area bank.
Just after 5 a.m., police responded to reports of an ATM that was apparently knocked out of a drive-thru at the Union Bank in the 5100 block of Waring Road.
Despite the damage, police say the thief or thieves did not get away with the machine.
The construction vehicle used in the theft attempt was found a short time later abandoned on nearby Mount Avenue after it had crashed into several parked vehicles.
Police are reviewing surveillance video in hopes of determining the identity of whoever was involved.
