CHP looking for witnesses in I-8 hit-and-run

LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - California Highway Patrol officers are seeking potential witnesses in a hit-and-run that occurred this week on Interstate 8.

CHP said a 29-year-old woman was standing in the middle of westbound I-8  at about 4:45 a.m. just west of Lake Jennings Park Road.

According to witnesses at the scene, she was standing in traffic with her arms away from her sides when an unknown vehicle struck her, causing her to fall to the ground. Then a black Ford, lifted either F-250 or F-350 diesel truck also struck her, causing major, life-threatening injuries. The woman was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.

Both drivers failed to stop following the collisions.

CHP is also looking for the driver or passengers of a white, Bounder motorhome, with a black, single axle trailer carrying a white off-road type vehicle.
