SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) - A driver had to be rescued Friday morning after a car drove off a San Ysidro street and came to rest upside down in a pond.
Authorities said the car somehow veered off Dairy Mart Road just after 6 a.m. and went down a slight embankment.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle, prompting emergency crews to rappel down and pull the person to safety.
The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
