DEL MAR (KGTV)--San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to Flower Hill Promenade Monday morning where a car crashed into a restaurant and struck a pedestrian.
An employee of Flower Child restaurant reported that an "older gentleman" driving a red Lincoln sedan crashed into the restaurant located at 2600 Via de la Valle before it had opened for the day.
She said the staff was scared because the car "came out of nowhere."
"If this had happened 20-30 minutes later there would have been a line of people lined up that he would've backed over and struck. There would've been multiple victims in that case," said San Diego Fire-Rescue battalion chief Mike Finnerty.
Finnerty confirmed the driver struck one woman, knocking her over and running over her foot. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
