CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Firefighters were able to prevent a car fire from spreading to a grocery store in Chula Vista early Thursday morning.
Just before 3 a.m. Chula Vista Fire Department crews responded to find an abandoned Honda Accord ablaze in an alley in the 300 block of E Street. The burning car was alongside a grocery store. The fire sent soot up the side of the store wall.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before the fire spread to the building, however.
The car had no license plates. Chula Vista police are unsure if it was stolen.
CVFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
