SAN DIEGO – A brush fire that erupted in the Lawson Valley area of Jamul Thursday burned at least 10 acres, but did not destroy any homes or cause injuries.

Fire officials said the fire broke out near the 3000 block of Lyons Creek Road shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Crews fought the fire on the ground and in the air.

Cal Fire said the fire burned 9.4 acres before crews stopped the rate of spread. As of Saturday afternoon, the fire was 100 percent contained.

A structure threat was reported at Skyline Truck Trail, but no homes were destroyed. Several sheds and outhouses were damaged by the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
