SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A brush fire broke out in Santee Tuesday morning, but crews were able to stop the flames from reaching nearby homes.
The blaze broke out shortly before 10:30 a.m. in an area near West Hills Parkway and Mission Gorge Road.
The fire burned near a residential area, but no evacuations were ordered as crews were able to gain control after nearly 5 acres were burned.
No injuries or structure threats were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
