Two men remained at large Saturday morning after robbing an AT&T store in Clairemont Mesa West neighborhood at gunpoint, making off with several boxes of cell phones that were kept in the store's safe, a police officer said.

The robbery took place at the AT&T store at 5252 Balboa Ave. at 7:45 p.m. Friday, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The two men entered the store and walked up to one of the employees on duty, Heims said. One of the men then pulled out a gun and forced the employee to open the store's safe. The suspects then grabbed several boxes of phones and fled out the back door. The total loss was not disclosed.

Both suspects were black, Heims said. One was in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall and heavy set. He was wearing a hoodie and black pants. The second suspect was also in his mid-20s and stood about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He, too, was wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

Anyone with information on these robbers was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
