2 sought in LA murder case arrested in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. - Two suspects who were wanted in connection with a Los Angeles murder case were arrested during a traffic stop Friday afternoon by Carlsbad police.

Michael Lee Stotler and Maya Sharene Mcinnis, both 22 and both from Carlsbad, are suspects in a stabbing death on Feb. 20 in Los Angeles. No other details about the case were released.

Los Angeles police contacted the Carlsbad Police Department on Friday after learning the couple was living in Carlsbad. A car being driven by Stotler was pulled over by Carlsbad police in the 4600 block of Carlsbad Boulevard shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. Mcinnis was a passenger in the car. Both were arrested without incident.

The two suspects were turned over to LAPD homicide detectives and returned to Los Angeles.
