EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Two people were arrested Monday after police say they led officers on a high-speed pursuit in the El Cajon area.
According to El Cajon police, officers tried to stop a Honda Civic for speeding on W. Main Street just after 8:30 a.m., but the driver refused to pull over and sped away.
Police said the Civic entered Interstate 8 in the wrong direction, causing officers to briefly stop the pursuit.
A short time later, the Civic got back onto W. Main Street but it crashed into an SUV.
Officers arrested the Civic’s occupants -- a man and woman -- at the scene.
The SUV’s driver was taken to the hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
Police said the Civic was reported stolen from Oceanside.
