SAN DIEGO - There's a reason San Diego is commonly associated with the beach lifestyle.
Trip Advisor's Travelers' Choice awards for Beaches named two San Diego beaches to its top 25 list of U.S. beaches.
La Jolla Shores Park (21st) and Carlsbad State Beach (24th) made the cut in the survey, which looked at more than 8,000 responses from travelers over a 12-month period.
Both beaches were praised for being ideal year-round.
The top U.S. picks for travelers were Siesta Beach, in Siesta Key, Fla., Ka'anapali Beach, in Maui, Hawaii, and St. Pete Beach, in St. Pete Beach, Fla.
California was also among the top state travelers prefer to visit for a beach trip. Florida was the top pick followed by Hawaii and then California.
The study also looked at the best beaches globally, as chosen by travelers. Looking to make a trip out of the country? The survey suggests Baia do Sancho, in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil; Grace Bay, in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; Eagle Beach, in Palm, Eagle Beach, Aruba; or Playa Paraiso, in Cayo Largo, Cuba.
