SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Those looking for an adrenaline rush on a budget have some of the state's cheapest options at their doorstep.

SeaWorld San Diego and Legoland California were considered among the most affordable theme parks in California, according to the website hometogo.

The website factored in accommodations for four — something most here in San Diego will not utilize — a meal, parking, and the cost of one adult ticket. A trip to Seaworld San Diego is estimated to run about $202 for an adult and, for Legoland, $218.36 per adult, according to the website.

But let's do the math that's more likely.

For San Diegans, a day for a family of four means four tickets, one vehicle parking, at least four meals, and no extra accommodations. By this method, you're looking at:

SeaWorld San Diego

  • Tickets: Four tickets (ages 3 and up) at $71.99, if purchased online. [$287.96]
  • Parking: $22 for general parking
  • Meals: About $13 for four people [$52]
  • Total: $361.96 for a family of four

Legoland California

  • Tickets: Two adults (ages 13 and up) at $95.99, and two children (ages 3-12) at $89.99, if purchased online. [$371.96]
  • Parking: $25 for general parking
  • Meals: About $13 for four people [$52]
  • Total: $448.96 for a family of four

Prices for on adult for a day at Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios Hollywood rounded out the top 10 list.

According to hometogo, Knott's Berry Farm was the most affordable theme park in California, costing about $128.85 an adult. But if you're going by our math as outlined above, a family of four will pay about $292:

Knott's Berry Farm

  • Tickets: Four tickets (ages 3 and up) at $53, if purchased online. [$212]
  • Parking: $20 for general parking
  • Meals: About $15 for four people [$60]
  • Total: $292 for a family of four

But this shouldn't dissuade anyone from taking the family out for a day. All of California's theme parks offer special deals online for saving on tickets, whether buying a season pass or using a military discount.
