SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Sometimes a night out is just what the doctor ordered. But nothing says you have to actually be outside to have fun.

In San Diego, whether you're a kid or a kid at heart, there's an arcade for you out there.

Arcades are traditionally just for kids ready to burn some quarters and trade in tickets for prizes, right?

Wrong. Local businesses have brought a spin to some locations by making them full-service bars as well. This also makes them perfect for a night out with friends or even a date.

Here's where you'll find San Diego's most popular gaming spots for kids and adults:

Arcades

Nickel City (Mira Mesa)

Looking for the classic arcade experience? Nickel City keeps it simple, nickels only. There's even an area with free, classic video games.

Lazerblast Arcade (Belmont Park)

Whether you want to feed coins into a machine, pick up a laser tag blaster, or rock climb, Lazerblast Arcade has it all — and right in the middle of Belmont Park at the beach!

Boomers (San Diego and El Cajon)

Boomers brings together everything you need for a great time: Golf, go-karts, and video games! Boomers' game room has all your favorite, classic arcade games whether you're in a group or flying solo.

John's Incredible Pizza Co. (National City)

From classics to new additions, John's Incredible Pizza Co. has enough video games to keep everyone busy for hours.

Gamer's Garage at Corvette Diner (Liberty Station)

Liberty Station's Corvette Diner also has an awesome arcade, featuring 64 games like air hockey, pinball, skee ball, and newer games like The Big Bass Wheel, and Fruit Ninja.

Arcade Bars

Dave and Busters (San Diego and Carlsbad)

Dave and Busters brings together beer, and classic and exclusive games. Guests can refill a game card to keep the fun going through the night with hundreds of games.

Coin Haus (La Mesa)

Play retro games like Super Mario, Paperboy, and Duck Hunt while getting a new beer when you're ready, via Coin Haus' self-pour beer setup. Happy Hour specials also feature free games!

Coin-Op (Gaslamp District and North Park)

Local gaming (and beer) fans have two areas to get their arcade fix with Coin-Op, one in the heart of downtown and also in North Park. Enjoy craft beers and cocktails and a range of arcade fun.

Brewski's Bar & Arcade (Miramar)

Munch on classic bar food along with classic arcade games at Brewski's, including a variety of pinball machines.

Punch Bowl Social (San Diego)

Downtown San Diego's latest addition packs an arcade, karaoke, bowling alley, and bar into one. Skee ball or shuffleboard while enjoying some creatively crafted dishes and drinks.
