(KGTV) — Halloween frights and theme park thrills are coming together this season at a variety of Southern California parks.
Aside from San Diego Halloween events, families get the unique opportunity to jump into some truly terrifying attractions or experience more kid-friendly fun at local theme parks.
But don't worry, there's still plenty of candy involved.

Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Knott's Berry Farm are each bringing back their fun-filled and adrenaline-packed Halloween events. Legoland and SeaWorld are also catering to families with safe areas for trick-or-treating and some fun activities.
So if you think you're ready to mix roller coaster screams with some Halloween fear, here are some scary events running at SoCal theme parks this season:
When: Sept. 7 - Oct. 31
Halloween time hits both Disneyland and neighboring California Adventure Park for nearly two full months of seasonal excitement. Attractions from the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride to the classic Haunted Mansion to park fireworks get a Halloween spin.
When: Sept. 14 - Nov. 3
Navigate through eight mazes and attractions based on frightening movies and television shows, including Halloween, Poltergeist, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, and more.
When: Sept. 15 - Oct. 28
As if thrilling roller coasters aren't enough, Six Flags will pack ghouls and zombies into the park with mazes and scare zones set to bring even more screams.
When: Sept. 20 - Oct. 31
Knott's Berry Farm takes on a scary form with haunted mazes and attractions, and horrifying shows and rides — plus more than 1,000 sinister creatures lurking around the park.
When: Sept. 22 - Oct. 28
The silly and the spooky will host some delightful Halloween activities at SeaWorld San Diego. The fall festival celebrates the season with dance parties, animal encounters, and, of course, trick-or-treating for kids.
When: Sept. 29 - Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27
Brick-or-Treat Nights return to Legoland with special entertainment, character meetups, costume contest, more than a million pieces of candy for guests, and more Lego fun.
