ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) – For the month of June, which happens to be National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, the Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) is cutting adoption fees in half for cats and kittens.

Now through June 30th the adoption fees are: adult cats $50, kittens $62.50, and senior cats (7 years+) for $37.50. Not only are kittens available at half the price, $62.50, you get a second kitten for free when you adopt two.

“Adopt a Shelter Cat Month encourages people to visit animal shelters during this time of year...so we have room for all the new arrivals," Kathy Zerkle, V.P. of Adoption Services at RCHS says.

Zerkle encourages considering an older cat also, "When we have lots of kittens, like we do now, people tend to pay less attention to the adult cats. In many cases, the more mature cats are actually better matches for adopters’ homes and lifestyles.”

For more information call 760-753-6413 or log on to www.sdpets.org, or meet meet the cats in person at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, CA 92024 (see map below).

The cattery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Tuesday.
