ANAHEIM, Calif. (KGTV) - Look out! Imperial Walkers, dead ahead!
Construction on Disneyland's upcoming Star Wars-themed area in April 2016 and it looks like the Empire is already taking shape.
A video posted Thursday showed a brief look at progress being made on the massive 14-acre project. A video showed AT-ATs before revealing a 2019 opening date for fans to "live your Star Wars adventure."
Of course, there will be plenty of Star Wars characters within the area for fans to interact with.
Also slated to make an appearance soon are two attractions: one which will allow visitors to take the controls of the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission, and another that will pit guests in the middle of a climatic battle between the First Order and the Resistance from Star Wars.
According to Disney, the project, "will be the largest-ever single-themed land expansion at Disneyland Resort."
The Walt Disney Company is based in Burbank.
