Can't Miss San Diego: Things to do March 17 -19

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Make sure you get up and get out this weekend to any one (or all!) of these events happening around San Diego this weekend.

Friday is St. Patrick's Day and there are sure to parties everywhere. But one you may not want to pass up on is the shamROCK bash in downtown. This annual block party brings non-stop music on multiple stages to the area for one crazy party.

The 24th annual Latino Film Festival also kicks off this weekend, packing 11 days with more than 160 films and music showcasing Latino culture. There are related festival events around the county, giving interested locals the chance to check out the event wherever they are in San Diego. (There's also a related food, beer, and wine festival. Yum!)

23rd annual San Diego ShamROCK @ Gaslamp District - Friday

It's everyone's favorite St. Patrick's Day celebration! ShamROCK returns to downtown San Diego, with more than 20,000 attendees accepted at the annual celebration. Non-stop music will be playing on three stages for annual, block party. More information.

World Baseball Classic @ Petco Park - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

The World Baseball Classic continues at Petco Park with teams USA, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Dominican Republic facing off Pool F's second round. Tickets are still available for what's sure to be an excellent day at the ballpark. More information.

24th San Diego Latino Film Festival - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

SDLFF celebrates more than 160 films, music, and exhibition work by Latino filmmakers and artist over an 11-day event at various locations around San Diego. The festival is also host to "Sonido Latino!" daily music performances and the Sabor Latino Food, Beer and Wine Festival. More information.

4th annual Rock Star Beer Festival San Diego @ The Lafayette Hotel - Saturday

More than 50 craft beers will be on hand to provide samples of some of the region's best brews. The walk around-style event benefits local causes to combat drunk driving. Live music, food vendors, and an after party will fill out the venue to keep the party going. More information

Mission Hills 5K Run/Walk @ Grant K-8 School - Saturday

Run, walk, or ride in the Mission Hills 5K Run/Walk, all to benefit STEAM programs at Grant K-8 School. Proceeds go to the Grant School Community Foundation. More information.

Soul Fuel Yoga Fest @ Marriott Marquis San Diego - Saturday

This free event will feature yoga classes, vendors, and live music to support Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. The event promises to expand yogis' passion for yoga and connect attendees with others in the yoga community. More information.

San Diego Homebrew Festival and Competition @ North Park Observatory Theater - Saturday

The San Diego Homebrew Festival and Competition will feature 35 homebrews, San Diego craft breweries, food trucks, and the chance to talk with brewers and beer professionals. Attendees will be treated to unlimited tastings and get to vote on the first, second, and third place winners for "Best in Show." More information.

Color in Motion 5K @ Qualcomm Stadium - Saturday

Get ready to dash through an onslaught of colored power (it's totally safe, don't worry) to benefit the Special Olympics of Southern California. Runners get a goodie bag and are treated to an epic post-race party. More information.

34th annual San Diego Cake Show @ Del Mar Fairgrounds - Saturday and Sunday

Aspiring cake artists, celebrity chefs and bakers, and really, anyone who loves cake will find a lot to love at the annual San Diego Cake Show. Demonstrations, classes, and vendors make this event one of the largest of its kind. Plus, you know, cake. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. More information.

Bike 4 Mike @ Del Mar Fairgrounds - Sunday

The charity bike event ranges from 10-, 25-, 50- and 62-mile routes and benefits Team Godfather Charitable Foundation, an organization that raises fund to combat ALS. Vendors, food, a beer garden, and live music are set for a post-ride "Thanks a Million" celebration at the fairgrounds. More information.
