SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Beer, racing, and Harry Potter will fill San Diegans weekend plans starting Friday.

Mike Hess Brewing is holding their seventh annual HessFest at their North Park location, with several other breweries also joining in the celebration.

For those runners and walkers out there, the annual Joggin' for Frogmen event, benefiting the Navy SEAL Foundation, and Live Well San Diego 5K, benefiting the San Diego Blood Bank, both return this weekend.

And of course, don't forget the San Diego Syphony's performance of music from the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while the movie plays on a big screen at Embarcadero Marina.

Wonderspaces pop up art event in Mission Valley - Friday and Saturday

Wonderspaces presents 16 unique art installations ranging from room-sized to virtual reality to a much grander scale. San Diego's exhibit at Civita Blvd. and Russell Rd. will feature mind-bending works seen at Burning Man, Sundance Film Festival, and SXSW festivals. More information.

Counting Crows and Matchbox Twenty at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre - Friday

Rock bands Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows bring their "A Brief History Of Everything Tour" to town this week. More information.

Taking Back Sunday at The Observatory - Friday

Alternative rockers Taking Back Sunday will perform in North Park with the bands Every Time I Die and Modern Chemistry this week. More information.

Surf Dog competition at Imperial Beach - Saturday

Hang ten! Or maybe 20. Canine surfers will take on the waves at Imperial Beach, while owners can enjoy a beer garden and more dog-friendly events near the Imperial Beach Pier. Funds raised benefit the San Diego Humane Society. More information.

Supergirl Pro Surf Festival in Oceanside Pier - Saturday

The largest female surfing event in the world hits Oceanside this weekend, showcasing all-girls action sports competitions and festivities. The event will include live concerts, a female DJ contest, women’s skate competition, female e-sports tournament, comedy, fashion, and much more. More information.

Joggin' for Frogmen 5K run and walk at Liberty Station - Saturday

The 7th annual Frogmen run to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation returns to Liberty Station, as runners lace up in person and virtually to support the troops. More information.

HessFest 7 in North Park - Saturday

Mike Hess Brewery and several other local breweries will party on Grim Ave. in North Park for HessFest 7. Attendees can enjoy unlimited beer samples, food vendors, souvenirs, and live music. Proceeds will benefit Next Step Service Dogs and the YMCA of San Diego County. More information.

Extreme Autofest: Automotive Lifestyle Festival at Qualcomm Stadium - Saturday

Tricked out cars, trucks, and motorcycles will descend on Qualcomm Stadium to celebrate automotive culture. Live demonstrations, moto sports, concerts, and dancing is set to bring together auto enthusiasts around the region. More information.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in concert at Embarcadero Marina - Saturday and Sunday

The San Diego Symphony will stage a performance of John Williams' music from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while the film plays in high definition on a massive screen. More information.
