(KGTV) - Disney is taking you back to a whole new world with its upcoming live-action version of “Aladdin.”
A short trailer for the movie aired during Sunday’s Grammys telecast, and the special look footage featured our first true glimpse of film star Will Smith as the Genie.
Also seen in the clip was Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. The movie is being directed by Guy Ritchie.
The animated version of the Genie, voiced by the late Robin Williams, became one of the more beloved characters in movie history. The live-action Genie will have big shoes to fill based on the mixed reaction on social media.

Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” hits theaters May 24.
