(KGTV) - A GoFundMe campaign set up to help a South Bay child hospitalized after his family was hit by a suspected drunk driver has raised nearly $16,000 in just two days.

Lennox Lake is currently at Rady Children's Hospital receiving care from severe injuries sustained when a suspected drunk driver slammed into his family's vehicle as they were heading home from a trip to Disneyland Saturday night.

Lennox, who was sitting in a car seat in the back passenger seat, sustained the brunt of the impact to the vehicle.

The campaign is now trending on the crowd-sourced fundraising website, having garnered $15,921 out of a $50,000 goal in only two days. Nearly 350 people have sent in donations and left warm wishes on the page for Lennox.

The driver of the offending vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Constantino Banda, was arrested shortly after the wreck and faces charges including driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and driving without a license. It was also discovered he has been deported from the United States more than a dozen times in the past.
