(KGTV) - Authorities have identified the driver that crashed into an elderly couple this week, killing them.
California Highway Patrol said Jessi Daniels, 27, veered her Ford Explorer into the opposite lane while traveling westbound on Lilac Road Tuesday, colliding head-on with a Mercedes E300.
The occupants of the Mercedes, Bob, 83, and Jo, 81, Durant, were killed on impact, according to CHP. They were just two miles from their home at the time of the collision.

Daniels remains in the hospital for serious injuries.
CHP suspects drugs played a factor in the crash. Daniels is facing charges, including driving under the influence.
