EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Crews were working to douse a 10-acre brush fire along Interstate 8.
The fire broke out along I-8 near Greenfield Drive and Las Coches Road Friday. A cause of the blaze has not been determined.
No injuries to residents or threats to structures were reported. Traffic was heavy on I-8, which was closed in both directions at one point before lanes were reopened to allow traffic through.
As of 5:25 p.m., Cal Fire crews reported stopping the fire's rate of spread. The fire was 10 percent contained, though full containment was expected overnight.
