ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Alpine station asked for the public's help Friday to find a man wanted in connection with an attack on a woman.
The assault happened between 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on June 20 on Harbison Canyon Road near Hunter Pass, said the department.
The woman was talking when a man she didn't know attacked her from behind, pushing her into a fence and hitting her in the face with his hands or an unknown object. A passing driver saw the woman lying face down on the ground and called for help, officials said.
Paramedics took her to the hospital to treat serious injuries to her face.
Crime Stoppers said the suspect is a white man in his 20's with short, unkempt hair. He was wearing a light-colored t-shirt.
The victim saw a light-colored single cab truck before she was attacked but investigators aren't sure if the truck is related to the case.
The Sheriff's Department is asking for anyone with information to call the Alpine station at 619-659-2600.
