What's open, closed this Veterans Day

SAN DIEGO -- Many federal, state and local government offices will be closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day.
  
In the city of San Diego, administrative offices, libraries, recreation centers and the Tecolote Nature Center will be closed. However, the Miramar Landfill, Chollas Lake, San Vicente Reservoir, Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center and municipal golf courses will be open. City-run pools will be open from noon to 4 p.m.
  
Curbside refuse collection will not be delayed.
  
In the county of San Diego, administrative offices, libraries and animal shelters will be closed. Community and teen centers in Fallbrook, Lakeside and Spring Valley will also be shut down for the day.
   
The 4S Ranch Sports Park office will be closed, but the park itself will be open for regularly scheduled practices and games.
  
The Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District will both operate their buses, trains and trolleys on normal weekday schedules.
