(KGTV) - If you woke up Saturday and jumped on to your computer or phone to check out what's happening on Facebook, you may have had some trouble.
Facebook outages hit San Diego, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Washington D.C. early Saturday.
Dallas and Houston, cities which are dealing with the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey, were also hit by the outage, according to Down Detector. Facebook activated its community "safety check" feature Friday in anticipation of the hurricane's landfall, allowing users to alert friends and family members of their well being during the storm.
A Facebook spokesperson told 10News the technical issue was currently being investigated:
"Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Facebook services. We quickly investigated and are currently restoring service for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience."
Users that would normally log onto Facebook took to Twitter to figure out what was happening:

Users also reported having widespread issues with Instagram Saturday morning.
