More than $5.4 million worth of drugs seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than 1,400 pounds of drugs over the weekend worth more than $5.4 million.

From Friday through Sunday, CBP officers intercepted more than 774 pounds of methamphetamine, 92 pounds of cocaine, three pounds of heroin, 40 pounds of fentanyl and 504 pounds of marijuana.

Officers say they also found the drugs hidden in various places in vehicles such as in the floor, in a gas tank, a speaker box and quarter panel.

CBP also arrested nine fugitives wanted for various charges including assault, probation and parole violations.
