SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — University City area parents and students are being warned about a reported predator who tried to lure a young girl into his car.

A man pulled his SUV up to a Standley Middle School student walking home on Erlanger St. on Aug. 30 and asked her to get inside while exposing himself, according to Principal Bill Pearson.

San Diego Police was immediately notified, Pearson told parents in a letter.

The man was only described as a white male and he was last seen driving a silver-blue Subaru Forester.

On the Nextdoor app, a neighbor reported catching a man touching himself in a blue/silver Subaru SUV two weeks ago.  She called police, but drove off.  She tells 10News he is between 18 and 21 years old, with bushy, brown hair and glasses.

According to authorities, a second incident occurred on Cousins and Pavlov. Police say white man with dark hair in his early 20s exposed himself.

The students then ran straight home and reported the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

Pearson also asked parents to discuss best practices for students walking to and from school and to encourage students to tell their parents if someone scares them or makes them feel uncomfortable.
