SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The San Bernardino social services center where a husband and wife killed 14 people earlier this month plans to reopen its administrative offices early next year.

The Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino said Wednesday that repairs to two buildings should be completed by Jan. 4. But the building that houses a conference center where the shooting took place has substantial damage and is closed indefinitely.

The other buildings received some damage as police searched them. They were locked down after the Dec. 2 shooting for repairs and a subsequent investigation.

The center provides services to 31,000 people with such disabilities as autism, epilepsy and Down syndrome.

While it has been closed, hundreds of counselors, therapists, case managers, social workers and others have been working in the field.
