SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - Two women were injured in a hit-and-run crash that stemmed from an argument in a Santee neighborhood.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 10200 block of Molino Road at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a vehicle crash involving injuries.
According to sheriff’s officials, the responding deputies learned three men were involved in argument with a resident that spilled into the street and became so loud that neighbors came out of their homes in an attempt to break up the confrontation.
The three men then got into a Honda-type vehicle and drove southbound on Molino Road before hitting two women. The car was last seen heading east on El Nopal, south on Gem Tree Way, and then east on Beck Drive.
According to officials, the women were taken to the hospital with what were described as significant injuries.
Sheriff’s officials said one of the men in the suspect vehicle contacted deputies to turn himself in. The vehicle allegedly involved was located in a nearby church parking lot, but the other suspects were nowhere to be found.
The incident is under investigation.
