KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KGTV) -- Three officers were shot in Kansas City, Missouri during a confrontation Sunday afternoon, according to police.
The shooting happened around 12 p.m. as officers were conducting an investigation on the east side of the city.
Three officers were hit by gunfire. The suspect was able to escape in a vehicle.
A short while later, the suspect was seen coming out of a home. After more gunfire was exchanged, the suspect was shot and taken into custody, where he later died.
Kansas City Police tweeted that the third officer is in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon. The other two officers were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
An additional (3rd officer) was struck by gunfire and was taken to the hospital. That officer’s condition is unknown at this time. The standoff continues at this time. More information as it becomes available

At approximately 1:15p the armed suspect exited a residence and once again exchanged gunfire with officers. He was shot and taken into custody. He was declared deceased by KCFD at that time.— Kansas City Police (@kcpolice) July 15, 2018
