RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (KGTV)--A man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murdering his father yesterday in Rancho Santa Fe, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Leighton Dorey III, 71, was discovered Tuesday by his wife suffering from upper body trauma inside his home located at 17221 La Brisa at around 11:27 a.m., officials said.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office also completed its autopsy today and ruled the manner of death to be homicide and cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, neck, torso as well as strangulation.

Sheriff's homicide detectives identified the victim's son as the murder suspect during the investigation overnight.

The suspect was arrested without incident, the sheriff's department said.
