RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Evacuations were ordered for some homes near a brush fire that broke out in Riverside Monday afternoon, according to ABC7.
The fire erupted near the Santa Ana Riverside around 1 p.m. Monday. Several dozen homes in the area evacuated and, according to reports, roughly 10 homes were directly threatened.
By 2 p.m. 10 acres had been charred by the blaze. The evacuation order was lifted by 3:30 when firefighters said they had stopped the forward spread.
Firefighters said they expected to remain at the scene of the fire into the evening hours.
