SAN DIEGO - Two vehicles and a motorcycle collided Wednesday on Interstate 5 near Lindbergh Field, leaving one person with major injuries and the southbound freeway temporarily blocked.

The crash in the southbound lanes near Sassafras Street was reported shortly after 9 a.m. The motorcyclist was lying in the far right lane and two other vehicles were spread out across the rest of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash prompted authorities to briefly close the entire southbound freeway and issue a Sig Alert, but the lanes were reopened shortly before 10 a.m., according to the CHP.
