SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV)--A crash involving the San Diego Trolley and a San Diego County Sheriff's Department SUV delayed service along the Green Line Monday morning, according to the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System.

Traffic was delayed into midday hours near the incident on Prospect Avenue near Cuyamaca Street.

Rob Schupp of MTS said the SUV made an illegal left turn and struck the trolley car around 9:54 a.m.

According to the Sheriff's Department, a deputy had his lights and siren activated when he entered the intersection and collided with a southbound trolley.

12 people were on board the trolley, according to Sgt. Joe Passalacqua.  No one was hurt.

The Santee Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
