SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Unified School District is set to launch what it terms a “dramatic” new plan designed to emphasis art in its schools.
The Strategic Arts Education Plan, SAEP, will includes an updated curriculum, new resources partnerships with cultural institutions and expanded access to arts magnet schools. There were no immediate details regarding how SAEP would be financed or budgeted and how many new teachers would be hired.
An 11 a.m. Monday news conference is scheduled at Rosa Parks Elementary to discuss the details of the plan.
The SDUSD Board will vote on the plan at its Tuesday board meeting.
