SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - One man was arrested following a manhunt stemming from an East County shooting Tuesday.

San Diego Sheriff's (SDSO) believe the suspect, the victim's boyfriend, shot the woman multiple time, before fleeing the scene, just before 3 p.m. in the 8400 block of Paseo Iglesia.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to her right hand and left arm. She was taken to Mercy Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

With assistance from ASTERA, Sheriff's K-9 and Area Detectives, Deputies searched the area for the suspect - who was identified as 30-year-old Jaquan Ramsey.

A perimeter was set up and deputies searched several nearby apartment complexes. Ramsey located and arrested around 5 p.m.

A neighbor of the victim told 10News she was with her family when she heard the shots. They locked the doors to their truck and remained in their car.

“I cried a little, prayed a lot and tried to keep my family calm so it was hard seeing all that," said Vivian Newcomb. "Walking through there and seeing all that earlier so it’s something you won’t ever forget.”

The handgun used to commit the crime was also recovered at the crime scene. Rancho San Diego Detectives are handling the on-going investigation.

It's unclear what led to the shooting.
